Finish Your Book Once and For All
Writing is hard.
Bringing your story to the finish line is even harder.
You have a story you’re burning to write. But…
Your mind is overflowing with ideas, characters, story concepts, and details. When you try to write it all down, all those ideas dry up.
You’re overwhelmed trying to find the right structure. You have so many plot threads and story-lines, you have no idea how you’re going to weave them successfully together into a coherent novel.
You’ll passionately write the first two or three chapters, no problem. But then you get stuck and can’t write beyond that point.
You’re frustrated with your slow progress. And you’re wondering for the millionth time if you’re kidding yourself pursuing this whole writing gig.
What if you…
Could harness your ideas with a framework that builds your story from the ground up.
Recognized what’s inherently brilliant about your writing, what you could let go of, and what you could develop further.
Had guidance on what steps to take next to bring your story to its absolute best version.
Could stop second guessing yourself, trust your instincts, and write with momentum, confidence, and joy.
You don’t have to go it alone.
Hi, I’m Nanci Panuccio.
Editor, story coach, and host of the Writer Unleashed podcast.
I’ve been working with writers at every stage of the drafting process since 2006. I’ve led led live workshops, created online writing courses, and I love having a high touch with my clients.
With an MFA in Writing, I’m trained to find the heart of a story, break it down to its individual parts and bring it all together into a compelling narrative. I know what readers respond to, what excites them, and what sends them drifting.
As your guide, I’ll give you a framework to help you refine your ideas, drill down to the essence of your story, and write with more competence, ease, and freedom.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I wait until I have my first draft done to do coaching with you?
Don’t wait! If you have a work in progress, but are getting overwhelmed and stalled, you’re in the perfect place. Private coaching will help you avoid wandering around in the wrong direction, and will save you major revision later on.
Can you explain further how the coaching works?
The content varies according to what you want support with in any given session.
For example, some writers give me a chapter, scene or series of scenes from their WIP a week before we meet. We then bring it up on screen-share and talk about it during our session. You get suggestions, techniques and/or writing exercises to revise, re-envision, or move your work forward. I don’t edit these pages, but I do help you see where your writing’s most powerful and what other possibilities are yours to explore. And I give you clear directions on where to take your story next.
Other writers need help establishing consistent writing routines, or moving past creative or craft-related blocks. Others just need help getting started, or gaining clarity and focus on what it is they’re writing.
We get together on Zoom for an hour and talk through whatever feels most important to you. I give you some strategies and/or techniques during the call.
All our calls are recorded and uploaded to your private online coaching portal. Beneath each recording, you’ll find that week’s annotated notes on your submitted draft, and any other supporting materials including writing exercises and frameworks we talked about during our session.
How does the scheduling work?
We meet once a week via Zoom. As a private client, you have access to my coaching calendar. From your portal, you can schedule week to week, or up to 4 weeks in advance. Our meeting goes straight to both our calendars. And you can cancel and reschedule as needed. Keep in mind that 5-session packages have an 8-week expiration, and 12-session packages have a 16-week expiration.
I've never worked with a book coach. Can we talk first?
Absolutely. Let’s hop on a 30-minute clarity call to talk about the story you’re longing to create. This is complimentary, and there’s no obligation to take it any further after our call. But you’ll still walk away with more direction on what to do next. Book your call with me by clicking here.
I'm working on my memoir. Do you work only with fiction writers?
I work with novelists, memoir writers, and short fiction writers. I’ve coached writers of fantasy, historical fiction, young adult, science fiction, cross-genre, memoir and literary fiction. I’m here to support you to write the story you want to write, through your spin on the world.
I'm not sure which package to choose? Any suggestions?
It really depends on your time and budget. The 5-session package can get you started and keep you in good stead as you move forward with writing and revising. The 12-session package saves you money in the long run, and also gives you a deeper foundation and grounding in your story. Most writers start with the 5-week and then move onto the 12-week once they see the progress they’re making.
How much time should I plan on investing?
That’s up to you. Many writers I work with are holding down full time jobs. Others are retired. And it really depends on where in the writing process you are. If you’re just beginning and are just playing with a story idea, 3 hours a week should be enough. But the further along you get with your story, the more time you’ll typically spend. If you already have a work in progress, you’ll probably want to spend between 5 and 10 hours per week writing.
That’s in addition to our time together. Don’t worry. I’ll guide you exactly on what to focus on whether you’ve got all the time in the world or, if like most of us, time is sparse.
